As far back as I can remember, I can still picture my mother and father praying for me every night. I often never knew what words that they were saying, but I was always comforted in knowing that their prayers were providing the protection that I needed.

In this story, the Lord has asked us to pray for boldness, wisdom, and worship for our children. Because God’s Word never returns void (Isaiah 55:11), an effective way to pray is to just pick up the Word of God and pray it out loud. You can simply insert in the name of the person that you are praying for as you recite the scripture out loud. When we do this, we are essentially getting behind authority—who is God.
